Kitchen Tea Ideas and Gifts

Below you will find some kitchen tea ideas and suggestions for kitchen shower gifts that will be personable and will be treasured by the couple for years to come.

Aside from the main bridal shower, it is common for the bride and groom's family and/or bridesmaids to host a kitchen tea party. This tea party is intended to make sure the couple is set up with all the little things that often get overlooked at the main bridal shower.

A kitchen tea bridal shower is usually hosted by the bride and grooms family, the maid of honor, the bridesmaids, or a combination of all three, who organize the invitations, games, food, and so on.

These Kitchen tea ideas can be used as themes, or just as shower gift suggestions if any one asks you for unique ideas of what to get the couple.

Kitchen Tea Gifts and Kitchen Tea Ideas for Themes

Keepsake Menu/Recipe Book
Buy a blank recipe binder, or make one up yourself with decorative paper and send/give a sheet to each invited guest. Ask each guest to compile their family's favorite menu or recipes for different types of meals, breakfast, lunch dinner... also special occasions like Christmas, Easter, New Years... Ask them to also personalize it with notes of special traditions and or different ways of presentation. Divide book first of all by meal, then by casual to more formal.

Kitchenware and Utensils
Ask all guests to bring a small gift that starts with the letter of the bride and groom's names: i.e. if the bride’s name starts with ‘s’, people can bring salad servers, spoons, salt and pepper shakers, etc. Hint: Use first middle and last name initials for a larger variety of items.

How-To-Books
Ask all the guests to bring a book. This is a gift that people can either go very small with or very big – books range in price from $5 to $100+! Cookbooks, home making or home decorating books would be very suitable.

Cookie Cutters and Other Gadgets
A nice idea for kitchen teas where people do not want to spend a lot of money and if the bride loves to bake. Ask each guest to bring a cute cookie cutter or other baking gadget which the bride(or groom) can use to create great culinary wonders!

Charm Bracelet/Necklace
Ask each guest to buy a charm that represents a part of their lives that involves the bride-to-be. This will be a very unique item that she will treasure for years to come. Have each guest while giving it to the bride, explain the connection. Stories can be noted in a little remembrance book to also give with the charm bracelet/necklace.

Dry Goods
Each guest brings one or two gourmet grocery items, such as fancy sauces, olive oil, artisan bread mixes, or even wine. Place all items in a large basket to send home with the bride.

Christmas Ornament
This makes a great winter shower for a bride who can’t get enough of the holiday season. Guests are asked to bring an ornament for the couple's first Christmas tree. Symbolic ones representing your friendship and/or special events in your lives will be treasured for years to come. This is a great bridal shower for couples so all can enjoy and the bride and groom will hear first hand all the stories connected to each one.

Don't be shy about hostessing this one any time of the year! We all love Christmas, and the couple will always have a 'first Christmas' no matter what time of year they get married!

A handy idea for the bride - decorate index cards and an index card box. Ask each guest to write down a marriage tip or household hint on a card.
