Non-Hosted Baby Shower Tea Party
Question: We are having a baby shower tea party for a friend at a tea house and we are inviting the guests but not hosting it.
We are looking for appropriate verbiage to put on the invitation letting people know that they will be paying for the tea themselves.
Answer: Yes, please don't do it! If it was a pot luck at you own home, that would be one thing, but the ladies hostessing the shower should pay for at least the basics.
Having said that though, you can tell the ladies that you will be providing a basic tea, like a Cream Tea which includes tea and scones,(this should be very reasonably priced) and mention other items that would be available to purchase.
If the tea house doesn't offer a traditional afternoon tea, but only offers beverages, you should buy the drinks and check with the owner to see if you can then bring in your own cake or other treats to serve.
You are invited...
'A Cream Tea will be served during the shower, however, other items like tea sandwiches and desserts will be available for purchase off the menu.'
Please note that some restaurants will allow you to bring in a cake or other food items as long as you are purchasing other items. Check with the owner or manager at your particular tea house.
You may also want to come prepared with a few Print & Play Baby Shower Games. They are always a hit! And for your party favors and table decorations I would recommend that you Shop Beau-Coup for Unique Baby Shower Favors & Gifts
My congratulations to the Mother-to-be!
